Nerd Word Wednesday
I ask myself a lot of questions each day. “Why are there so many emails?”“What should I eat for breakfast?” “Why am I so tired, so tired?” Most of these questions I manage to find answers for, but several just get answered with naps and fluffy blankets. If you want to have a cookie before and after nap time, that’s okay. It’s all okay.
tahini |təˈhēnē|
noun
a Middle Eastern paste or sauce made from ground sesame seeds.
Tahini is a pretty straightforward ingredient. Used traditionally to create the famous Middle Eastern Tahini Sauce, Hummus, and Baba Ghanoush, it’s popularity has risen in the American household due to the recent hummus craze.
It is, very simply, a paste made by grinding sesame seeds. The flavor by itself is somewhat bitter and nutty. Popular recipes include flavor additions of, garlic, lemon, and cumin.
You are most likely to find this ingredient in recipes for Hummus, though I typically omit it when I make this dip for myself.
Wishing you a wonderful, carb-filled Wednesday!
Sincerely,
