COFFEE TALK
It seems as though the question is leaving lips with greater frequency than ever before. Where did December go? How is it that we now find ourselves only three days away from The Day. Most years, I would be mourning over lost time and begging it all to slow down, but as much as I hate to say goodbye to the joy of anticipation, I cannot wait for Christmas Day. Actually, I am most looking forward to Christmas Eve - when Mr. Pedantic and I have our own little celebration with just the two of us. There is a ham in the fridge and a bottle of something sparkly chilling. I am counting down the days.
This year, I am responsible for bringing these mashed potatoes (my new favorite thing in this world) to one family Christmas, and this pie to the other. I think I got off rather easy, but with the number of goodies I have made over these past few weeks I will not be complaining.
I have been obsessed with Gwen's new album this year, primarily this song.
I was absolutely stunned to learn that I won one of Jessica's giveaways last week. She really is my favorite blogger and I visit her lovely space on a daily basis. I received my KitchenAid Pro Line Series Blender in the mail Wednesday and I put it right to use making this Roasted Broccoli and Gruyere soup - so good!
I have been on the hunt for stockings for the past six weeks and I finally settled upon these faux cowhide stockings. I was not entirely sure what I wanted, but the colors coordinated with the rest of my decor so I snatched them. However, now that they are up I am totally in love. I love the little bits of metallic gold. I know, big surprise. Mr. Pedantic claims that gold is taking over our home.
I made this bark yesterday and it was fantastic! The only thing left on my baking list is sugar cookies. That will likely be today's project.
How is your weekend shaping up? Do you have baking to do or presents to wrap? Whatever your plans, I am wishing you a very festive long weekend.
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
