COFFEE TALK
Hey there! How has this week been treating you?
I switched my closet over from summer to fall this week and while the temperatures have not quite made up their mind, in my pumpkin-covered home, it is fall and I love having my sweaters back in rotation.
The cashmere sweater of winter drinks, ay? I wish I had two sets of eyes right now so I could roll both of them.
It has come to my attention that this world of ours is in dire need of good listeners. I am determined to be more purposeful about this in my own life.
I have found myself in a deep obsession with chicken parmesan. A craving-fueled whim drove me to put it on our menu a couple weeks ago and now I cannot stop making it. I think it's probably going to find its way to the blog soon because 1. it's So. Darn. Good., and 2. I need to force myself to actually write down the recipe. Right now it's just in my head.
Deeply unsettled, but at the same time, I would happily make him a pie. He will forever be Laurie in my mind.
This is the time of year where I usually begin watching my all time favorite movie (You've Got Mail) at least once a week. I feel that Kathleen Kelly and I relate to one another on a very deep, emotional level, and every time I watch it I discover new facets of Joe Fox that remind me so much of my husband. He doesn't see it. It's okay.
Did you all catch these Pineapple Ginger Chewy Caramels? They make a pretty wonderful weekend project.
I am counting down the days until my hair appointment. As of today I am two weeks away from transformation and I am pretty excited. I may be making a bigger deal out of this than seems reasonable, but I have never dyed my hair before so...it is kind of a big deal.
I have no excuse for why I have yet to make this glorious monstrosity other than maybe a somewhat healthy sense of self-restraint. Clearly, I need to brush off those foolish inhibitions, and make it happen as soon as possible because it is definitely buffalo chicken season.
Speaking of which, I heard some kind of game season just kicked off. I'm not sure, but I think that means we should start curling up in sweatshirts and eating horribly wonderful things. Pretzel-Wrapped Hot Dogs with Beer Cheese might be a good start. Just a thought.
Why do we have to wait two more months for Taylor to release her full album? I have a serious problem with non-Christmas albums being released less than two months before Christmas. I always find myself in a horrible dilemma of choosing between Bing Crosby and my latest pop obsession.
Happy, happy weekending!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
