A year ago (as of tomorrow) I went to a pumpkin patch, tore through my favorite burger, and then had a serious meltdown in Mr. Pedantic's car because we were exactly one week away from getting married! Emotions were a little high and I think I was mad about him leaving me behind in the corn maze. Like I said, emotions were happening. Wow. Slow down and rewind, I just have one question. ONE YEAR?!?! How did this happen?
I now find myself in the process of trying to wrap up my life because, as of tomorrow, we are one week from hopping into the car at a very, very early hour and making our way to Montreal to celebrate our first anniversary.
I stumbled upon this gloriously glittery eyeshadow a couple weekends ago and am so close to breaking down and splurging on it. I dragged Mr. Pedantic back into Sephora this past weekend for another peek at it and spied this whole set of sparkly potions and...now I want all six.
I am spending a lot more time getting ready each morning but I just cannot help myself. I love primping in the cooler months. The layers, the colorful tights, the make-up that no longer melts off my face. Getting dressed is just so much more fun in the fall, don't you agree?
Tell me, are you ready for the influx of Thanksgiving recipes? I am conflicted. I have so many recipes that I am itching to share with you, but I am also trying to hold onto these quiet autumn weeks with all my might because I am not quite ready for the holiday craziness.
Have you made these slushies yet? If not, please tell me that will happen this weekend.
I know it is wayyy too early to start thinking about Christmas, but can I just point out this gorgeous wrapping paper? I stumbled upon it by way of the magical Etsy homepage and I think this may be the inspiration for my entire Christmas theme this year. That's all. No more Christmas talk until November, I promise.
Over the past week I have fallen deeply in love with kombucha. I know, I am so late to the trend it is not even trendy now, but I am okay with that. It was recommended to me for stomach issues and it has really helped! I like drinking it first thing in the morning. It takes away the nausea I was waking up with and kind of jumpstarts my day. Right now the Humm brand is my favorite.
Hockey season began. This is a big deal around Norwyk Manor. Mr. Pedantic's team is far outplaying mine, but we remain the most civil of mortal enemies.
I hosted my pumpkin painting party this past Monday and it was so much fun! I'll be sharing all the details and tips next week in case you want to host a party of your own!
Still very much in love with this candle.
I am planning on making a huge batch of this biscotti for my car snack next week. It's a long way to Montreal.
This weekend we are celebrating my father's birthday and while I am not on cake duty this year, I was reminded of this post from last year. Yellow cake with chocolate frosting is always a good idea, birthday or no birthday.
Happy weekending!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
