Somehow this week is already reaching an end. The first week of October has brought the return of 90-degree weather and a partial return to “normal” life. We win some and lose some I suppose.
Last weekend we turned in our keys at Norwyk Manor and closed the door for the last time. It seems so surreal. It was the first place I ever lived without my parents. It was the home that Mr. Pedantic carried me into, wedding dress and all. It is the end of another era. There’s been a lot of that this past week. People you never expect to move out of your life are suddenly gone. Homes you love are reduced to mere memories. And you quickly realize that where you are isn’t what you had planned, and life in general is just not what you thought. But that is far too heavy talk for a Friday, so let’s burry our feelings in poutine.
Have you heard about these 4-ingredient english muffins? I was so skeptical, but a friend made them for me recently and I will happily admit that they were scrumptious. A slightly different texture from your standard english muffin, but undeniably delicious in their own right.
I need your help. Now that we are living at Claiborne House and I am cooking again (YES!!! Oh, how I missed my kitchen.) I have met with my newest adversary. I have a beautiful, new, top-of-line glass top stove thanks to my loving husband, but I have no idea how to clean it. I mean, really clean it. How do I keep those annoying rings away? Send me all of your tips!
Aren’t these chai custard pear pastry puffs so beautiful? Some of my very favorite flavors right there.
Have you seen these tiny dogs wearing spider costumes (Watch until the end.)?! It is one of the most hilarious yet disturbing videos to pop up on my Facebook feed and I keep thinking how perfectly Sabine could pull this haunting look off. At the same time though, I feel like it would freak me out.
Isn’t this Red Apple Cider Sangria so gorgeous?!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Pick all the apples; drink all the cider.
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
