Happy Friday!! This week has been a whirlwind of frosted windshields, mailing Christmas cards, and our first snow of the season. Yep, we are knee-deep in December and I could not be happier.
Sure, there is some stress that can come with the season, mostly in trying to resist being so busy that I miss the cozy moments at home which I relish so greatly. However, I am setting all of that aside this weekend. Mr. Pedantic and I are going to tackle our annual gingerbread masterpiece and I plan on taking a few hours to myself to work on paper flowers while we have a mini Christmas movie marathon.
This lovely pink drink is going to join us in our gingerbread efforts. Isn’t it so gorgeous?! I am just in love with the color.
Speaking of Christmas movies, I always get the urge to go to a matinee around this time of year. While it was not a hard and fast tradition, there were several Christmases where my mom took me and my siblings to a daytime movie during the Christmas season. These days out, and the special lunches with Mama that followed, are some of my coziest memories. I am hoping to indulge myself once this season with a morning trip to the theatre.
If you are looking for a cozy meal this weekend, look no further than this beef stew over brown butter mashed potatoes. One of our favorites!
Anthrolopolgie always has the most adorably whimsical ornaments. I have a bit of an ornament problem. It is hereditary in my family. My grandmother ran out of room on her tree for all of the glitzy baubles years ago, my mom could only hang little more than half of her stock this year, and after a mere three married Christmases together, Mr. Pedantic and I are already getting tight on space. But that won’t deter me in the least from admiring this lovely little muffin.
My mini peppermint bark cheesecakes are up on PMQ for Two today! They are seriously so easy to make!
This rugelach is so fun. I think it would be so perfect for gifting!
What is on your agenda this weekend? What activities do you just have to do this time of year? Let’s talk!
Wishing you all a cozy, Christmas-y weekend!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
I love that my generation has taken a hold of snacks and made them into not only a socially-acceptable mode of daily nutrition but a hallowed one. If you're not entirely sure of the current snack pseudonyms, see; charcuterie, tapas, tastings, flights…
