It's June.
That very utterance shakes me to the core. 2018 is halfway over and the month ahead is far more daunting than I would care to admit. I am supposed to write a book proposal this month. My baby sister is graduating from high school. And Mr. Pedantic and I are going to be apart overnight for the first time since we have been married. Sure, you can laugh at me, but I would be lying if I said that the idea did not make me a little bit nauseas.
Despite the impending insanity, there is much to look forward to. Specifically, the fact that only a month and a half now stands between me and a taco festival that you best believe I am attending.
This weekend, we are celebrating my Mama's birthday. I cannot wait. These fried chicken sandwiches are on the menu. Oh yes...
Did you know that today is National Doughnut Day? If you feel like celebrating (which, like, why wouldn't you?) here is some inspiration. Nutella-Stuffed Donut Holes with Vanilla Sugar. Sugared Strawberry and Glazed Lemon Creme Doughnuts.
Um, dreamy alert! I love this bud vase.
I just ordered this study and I cannot wait to get started!
I really need to buy a bathing suit...but there are few things I hate as much as buying bathing suits. What is with these little "cut-out" numbers? I am over here just trying to cover this body of mine and you are giving me a lanyard attached to bikini bottoms? I'm looking at you, Target.
Wishing you all a doughnut-filled, iced coffee-fueled weekend!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
Tomato season has reached its peak and this bruschetta fiend cannot squeal obnoxiously enough.
I love how many varieties of tomatoes are accessible these days. I do not know if ever saw anything but a red tomato when I was younger, but now produce bins are teeming with a kaleidoscope of fruits, looking like an edible collection of autumn leaves. It’s heavenly.
