I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we are already here. September 21st. Exactly one month from our second anniversary. The first (official) day of the most wonderful season of all. The end of our first week as homeowners. It’s kind of a big day.
We signed our names approximately 728 times Monday afternoon, were showered with bottles of congratulatory bubbly, and less than 45 minutes later, we found ourselves cracking open paint cans and turning the scuffed up walls into a place all our own. One major meltdown and three revisits to the paint store later, this collection of walls and rooms is starting to feel a bit more like home.
My heart longs for a safe place that feels like home rather than a chaotic, unfamiliar, half-painted jungle, or my disassembled apartment box maze. But, the world spins on despite my protests, and I know that in a few more days the last box will be transferred and we will be closing the doors here at Norwyk Manor for the very last time.
Before the tears return, let’s take a tour of the internet!
Pumpkin spice lattes delivered straight to my door? Not mad at it.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you about new Good Eats episodes? 200? Yeah, me too.
This takes me back. My mother made bowl after bowl of the classic brown sugar/cream cheese apple dip for us every fall as kids and this grown-up version already has my heart.
Currently craving this cauliflower soup right now. I have not made it in ages due to Mr. Pedantic’s aversion to the vegetable, but I might just have to make a pot all for myself.
Whatever your weekend plans, I really hope they include Baileys Pumpkin Milkshakes.
Happy, happy Friday!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
