It has been one of those weeks where my agenda was completely unnecessary as life upset and rearranged just about every plan I had. The weekend promises little relief with constant commitments, Father’s Day baking, and errand-running, but finding moments in between the chaos is my mission.
We harvested our first tomatoes (see above) this week and I cannot believe I actually grew something edible. I mean, I’ve had mild success with herbs over the years, but it’s not the same as picking an actual fruit or vegetable, you know? Maybe my luck as a gardener is turning? Here’s hoping!
I made this baked parmesan chicken for our dinner Monday night and will definitely be repeating it. I finished our cutlets with a squeeze of lemon and a drizzle of olive oil and it was so perfect.
If you have visited any junior’s clothing store or run into any trend-setting tweens lately, you might have noticed that scrunchies are back. Every color. Every fabric. It’s scrunchies everywhere. Being the hipster-ish lady that I am, I complained, pleaded disapproval, and then quietly succumbed. So yes, I’m joining the scrunchie club…again. It feels too soon to have fashion trends repeating themselves in my lifetime.
This baklava dip has got my heart fluttering. Definitely a “must try.”
I was gifted a Staub grill pan several weeks back and have been experimenting with it since. This past week I made the most flavorful bacon cheeseburgers on it and it sealed my love for this pan.
This sweatshirt is the cutest and comfiest thing that I cannot stop wearing. I should probably wash it. Soon.
What are your weekend plans? Any Father’s Day traditions? Tell m; I’m nosey.
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
I love that my generation has taken a hold of snacks and made them into not only a socially-acceptable mode of daily nutrition but a hallowed one. If you're not entirely sure of the current snack pseudonyms, see; charcuterie, tapas, tastings, flights…
