Good morning, friends! It’s been a few weeks since the last Coffee Talk, but now that festivities have come to an end, holiday greetings no longer prelude and conclude every interaction, and schedules have resumed some air of normality, I feel my life is coming back into focus. It was a bustling, joyous interlude, but I am finally ready to get to know 2020.
Coming into this year, I really needed some time and space to pause. There is much change approaching - some known, much unknown - and I am trying once again to consider my efforts, endeavors, and desires for this fresh, new, year under an even more scrupulous lens.
I recently gave myself the task of listing the things in my life - both professional and personal, though they often intersect - that bring me joy, and that I feel especially equipped to do. I say “yes” to many things, often without thinking, but if the past autumn of endless sickness taught me anything, it is that there will be times when I have to stop saying yes to everything, and only offer my time and attention to a few things. I am seeking to understand what those things should be by building a sieve of sorts that will help me sort through the many requests and offers before I let another “yes” leave my lips.
So, that’s where I have been and a bit of what I have done, now let’s discuss all the things!
Pregnancy is making itself a bit more outwardly obvious these days. Our little love is constantly on the move, kicking and punching, and finding flattering clothing gets harder and harder, but I wouldn’t trade it. I am currently living in these leggings, and this pillow is providing the comfortable sleep I had been searching for - that is, when I can steal it away from Sabine, who thought she had been gifted an extra roomy new bed.
Weekend baking project, anyone?
If you are looking for something fun and fresh to sip, this Apricot Honey & Lavender tea is so lovely and is my new favorite decaffeinated brew.
Mr. Pedantic and I are currently in the middle of a massive reorganization process as we try to transform our “catch all” room into a nursery. Many of these tips for clever cabinet organization are so helpful!
What are you baking, reading, loving at the moment? I’d love to hear!
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
