It is Wednesday morning. 6:34 A.M.. This is the moment where we glance at the biscuit tin and decide if we are going to eat a responsible breakfast or just reach in for another shortbread cookie.
Being responsible is much easier when responsibility 1. tastes good, and 2. comes in the loveliest shades of blush pink.
I like to think that we are setting ourselves up for success.
I think this obsession-driven world has finally calmed down about coconut oil, which means I can once again be excited about it.
I never like to be predictable.
I love the idea of adding coconut to my smoothies, but I don't love the texture of coconut, so coconut oil is the obvious solution. Besides tasting really quite wonderful, it is very, very good for you for many, many reasons. But you can read about that some place else because this is not a health coaching session, K?
Blood orange season is almost at an end which means we have to eat ALL OF THEM before it is too late and we are once again stuck with plain, old, non-photogenic oranges.
Do you ever look at my pictures and think... "wow, she must own a lot of glassware"?
Well, I do. It's insane. It's making me crazy. There are glasses filling two separate kitchen cabinets. There are glasses on my prop shelf. And I now have an entire bar cart filled with glasses. Not to mention my cabinet for mugs and teacups.
Thank goodness the universe has exchanged that entirely unromantic term of "hoarder" for "prop stylists."
I blended this lovely tonic up in my newest appliance obsession, this kitchen aid blender. I was generously gifted this by Jessica during the holiday season and I am IN LOVE.
I know I am risking your judgement by admitting that I split a smoothie with my puppy, but Sabine really did enjoy this treat almost as much as I did.
I just thought I'd pass that on in case you feel like having a breakfast date with your favorite canine.
Gosh... I used to make fun of dog people.
I am so ashamed...*splits a cupcake with her puppy*
After the first sip of this bright, frosty smoothie, you will be very thankful that you resisted that shortbread cookie.
There is no better way to say "good morning."
Sincerely,
Pedantic Foodie
