Well.
It has been quite the week.
How are we doing? What are we doing? When will it end? I wish this was a post where I answered all of those questions but…it isn’t.
However, there are things we can do - good things - to avoid bad things like spiraling thoughts and hitting “refresh” on that news app a little too often.
Here’s a little list I am working through myself…
Check on your people. Just a quick text or phone call to let them know they are thought of and remembered can mean a whole lot.
Do the things you never seem to find time for in a normal week. Maybe it’s baking a new recipe, stocking your freezer with homemade almond croissants, or tackling a craft project. Do more than press buttons on a remote.
Whether you have children or not, try to plan a fun activity to do each day. Play a new game, try out a new yoga regime, or cook something fun and out of the ordinary with your partner - or even with a friend over Facetime!
Right now, I am savoring typical tasks a little more thanks to this candle. I am also pretending as though my life and health were dependent on Trader Joes’ Mango Passionfruit Juice - yeah, I like juice and yes I might be six years old.
I have to admit that I really felt the panic setting in when out for groceries nearly a week ago only to find bare shelf after bare shelf. Since then, shops seem to have caught up a bit more, but if you are working with a limited pantry, here are a few suggestions for more simplistic and customizable meals.

To be perfectly honest friends, I really do not know how to do this. I’m not a fan of change, and all at once, nothing feels the same. But, we can love the people in our lives, even from afar. We can find joy in simple things. We can support those who are struggling more than ourselves. Let’s do this well, moment by moment.
